AZ. PENAL CODE § 13-3214 (d) (2023).

  • Establishes affirmative defense to a prosecution for committing acts constituting prostitution when the acts were as a direct result of being a victim of sex trafficking.
  • Subsection B prohibits cities and towns from enacting any ordinances less stringent.

AZ. REV. STAT § 13-415 (1992).

  • If there have been past acts of domestic violence against the defendant by the victim, the state of mind of a reasonable person shall be determined from the perspective of a reasonable person who has been a victim of those past acts of domestic violence.

AZ. REV. STAT § 13-907.01(A) (2018);  AZ. REV. STAT § 13-909 (A)(2024).

  • The court shall vacate a conviction if it finds by clear and convincing evidence that the person’s participation in the offense (prostitution) was a direct result of being a victim of sex trafficking pursuant to § 13-1307.
